Our story

Our story

Chatter Labs® began because our founder, a tech mom with a busy household, had a cleftie daughter with a speech impairment.

Speech and language therapy was great, but a single session a week isn’t a lot to treat something so complex. The family wanted to do games at home to practice new skills acquired during speech therapy.

Kids, however, don’t listen to their parents when you try to do homework, right? Well, her child wasn’t different. So what do kids love? Digital games — but she found no articulation games that could keep her daughter interested long enough.

So as a tech mom, she decided to build the experience she wanted for her daughter. We now want to share it with your family…

Chatter Labs is an educational platform that provides interactive speech and language games as well as printables for children, designed to support therapists, teachers and families.

Its mission is to empower speech and language pathologists to extend consistent speech and language support beyond sessions across home and school — so every child can progress.

The platform allows clinicians to assign structured speech practice, engage children through interactive games or printables, and track progress over time — helping ensure therapy continues outside of scheduled sessions.

Chatter Labs is built around a massive transformative purpose: to empower speech and language pathologists to extend consistent speech and language support beyond sessions across home and school — so every child can progress.

This reflects a core challenge in speech and language therapy: progress often depends on consistent practice outside of sessions, which can be difficult to achieve without the right tools. Chatter Labs focuses on making speech practice:

  • Easy to assign
  • Engaging for children
  • Trackable for clinicians, teachers and parents

Chatter Labs uses interactive, game-based activities to support structured speech and language practice. A typical workflow includes:

  • Selecting targets — for example, speech sounds or concepts such as healthy vs unhealthy
  • Assigning games to a child for practice
  • The child completing activities at home or in sessions
  • Automatically tracking progress and performance

This approach helps extend therapy beyond the clinic and supports more consistent, frequent practice.

Consistent practice is one of the most important factors in improving.

Many children receive limited therapy time each week, which means progress depends heavily on practice between sessions at home or in school environments.

Tools that support assignable activities and progress tracking help ensure children continue practising regularly, which can accelerate improvement.

Chatter Labs is designed to support, not replace, professional speech therapy.

It helps extend therapy by enabling guided practice outside of sessions, reinforcing the work done with a speech-language pathologist.

Chatter Labs focuses on extending therapy beyond the session, rather than just providing standalone activities. Key differences include:

  • Assignable speech-sound games, concept-sorting games, following-direction games and more
  • Support for home and school practice
  • Built-in progress tracking
  • A focus on consistency and continuity of care

This aligns with its mission of helping every child make progress through more frequent and structured practice.
